As you are well aware of, this blog is titled Health,Care and Beauty,
but what does it truly stand for.

The word health is used to describe every day life situations such as diabetes, arthritis, knee surgery, weight loss and exercise.

My use of the word care is to provide suggestions and information that you might consider to help you with situations that you may find yourself in.

Last but not least is beauty. There is nothing wrong with wanting to take care of your physical appearance. But please don’t ever think that your physical appearance (weight) is the only aspect of beauty.

If weight loss is one of your goals, fantastic you should always be trying to improve your health. But being over weight does not mean that you are not beautiful. Beauty really does come from within, be proud of who you are and hold your head high for you are all truly beautiful.

Fortunately Atkins Advantage has made a series of Atkins diet drinks(can be use in conjunction with proper eating habits). This is the line of Atkins Advantage shakes.

Atkins Advantage shakes are made by the Atkins Advantage group. This group is one that is well on top of the field of Atkins diet products and studies. Quality is the main consideration of the group in that it works to make products that are not only delicious but also healthy for the diet.

It is easy to mix a shake. The material that is used is properly shaken before drinking and is chilled properly. The user just opens after than and drinks. It is easy to enjoy this product thanks to its ease of handling.

The contents of these shakes are low in fat. Each can contains no grams of trans fat. This is guaranteed by Atkins Advantage for quality and health.

The best thing about these meal replacement drinks is that they work to follow Atkins diet guidelines. Each can contains only four grams of carbohydrates, which is a mere one percent of one’s daily recommended value. According to the Net Atkins Count only one gram will impact blood sugar, thus making it easier to lose or maintain one’s weight.

It should be noted that while these Atkins diet drinks contain valuable materials it is not for everyone. These drinks do contain milk and soy ingredients. As a result it is not recommended for those with allergies to these materials. Some sulfites are included in these shakes too.

Atkins Advantage shakes are among the best meal replacement drinks to use. These drinks feature all sorts of important nutrients. These are also drinks that are perfect for the Atkins diet thanks to its low carb content and impact.

Guarana: Natural Weight Loss Remedy With Caffeine

March 14th, 2010 No comments

Guarana (paullinia cupana) is derived from the seeds of a plant indigenous to the country of Brazil. It has the ability to stimulate the nervous system.  Coupled with thermogenic and diuretic effects, is said to be effective for people trying to achieve weight loss. Known to be a stimulant, that heightens the nervous system, guarana is one of the many natural weight loss remedies popular these days.

The secret to guarana’s effectiveness is caffeine. Yes, the same substance found in your cup of coffee. However, guarana contains caffeine of up to 2-3 times more than regular coffee. You might have heard of or read the word “guarana” somewhere before. Try checking the label of your favorite energy drink. Yes, there it is: guarana. It does not say there “caffeine”, but now you know the reason why manufacturers of such energy drinks use guarana as one of their ingredients. Your energy drink, per serving, may contain 169-259 mg of caffeine. Compare that to a serving of coffee or soda, which contain 100 mg and 36 mg of caffeine respectively.

Guarana is in the same league as ephedra and salicin. Their ability to speed up your body’s metabolic rate enables you to burn calories faster, so they do not get stored beneath your skin as fats. In effect, they raise your body heat – thermogenesis.

If you are planning to incorporate caffeine as part of your natural weight loss remedies, make sure you get one that delivers just the right amount. Opt for something that contains just about enough caffeine to increase your energy and enable you to burn off more calories. Not too much as to cause some side effects such as agitation and heart palpitations.

Just because it’s natural does not mean you can take as much as you want. Likewise, just because you take as much as you like does not mean you will be able to shed off more pounds quicker. The more you take natural weight loss remedies with caffeine, the more side effects you will have to put up with. Also, remember to drink plenty of fluids, never skip meals, and don’t take them a few hours before bedtime. You will only stay awake, since they are stimulants.

Just because natural weight loss remedies are natural, this does not mean that they can be taken in excess. Do not combine guarana with ephedra.  Ephedra is another powerful stimulant popular among people trying to lose weight. You will only enhance side effects that are possible. Also, if you are taking Coumadin, a blood-thinning medication, steer clear from trying them.<

Joint Inflammation Pain Management Strategies

March 5th, 2010 1 comment

The following article will touch on a few strategies to be able to manage your joint inflammation that causes you pain better and help you understand the various strategies to relieve pain joints.

With a lot of research being done in the field, people who suffer from joint pain no longer have to feel despair over their condition. Those possessing broader thresholds for pain, treat their joint pain as ordinary circumstances which they have learned to manage. Rather than letting discomfort take control of their lives, they have resorted to simple techniques of managing their joint pain.

Using either warm or cold compress as a means of alleviating joint pain are some of the home remedies that is commonly used. Fifteen minutes of applied dry heat or ice pack on affected areas may lessen swelling thereby easing the joint pain. However, therapies such as this should be referred to by a physician as there is a possibility of aggravating the condition. Warm water exercises are recommended to loosen up stiff joints and sore muscles. Water pressure provides a gentle force on aching joints.

Some doctors may recommend the application of a brace or a splint to hold up afflicted joints in case a person has to attend to a commitment. Since the aim is not to be hampered by joint pain, this method is usually a means of getting by. Again unless prescribed or approved by a doctor, incorrect implementation may cause aggravation.

Massage is said to have been employed as a relief for joint pain for centuries now. Accordingly, arthritis in ancient times already existed and massage was the means of easing out the swelling and the joint pains. Light strokes and muscle kneading over the joints helped the flow of blood around the distressed area. Massages however, are best employed if performed by an experienced therapist.

Another kind of therapist who can help an arthritic manage his joint pain is the physical therapist. This professional provides the guidance and training needed should an arthritis sufferer decide to engage in physical exercises. Exercise activities should be maintained at low-impact levels as in the forms of swimming, walking and aerobics. Exercise routines provide joint mobility but should not be applied up to a stressing point.

Engaging in weight reduction programs can decrease the weight being imposed on bones and muscles. Weight management is a big part of joint pain management. As your body weight slowly lessens, the pressure being applied to your muscles and joints also decreases. A gymnasium trainer’s advice on how to complement diet regimens with the correct work-outs may be solicited. Dieting is not only about losing weight, it is also the firming up of skin and muscles loosened up by weight reduction.

Good professional advice in addition to a strong determined mind are the most important factors necessary. Whatever method a person decides to manage his joint pain, they don’t have to do it alone.
