Heartburn and pregnancy can occur when there is a leakage of acid into the esophagus by the stomach. Many pregnant women suffer from heartburn during pregnancy and nutrition battles. One out of every four pregnant women suffers from heartburn, generally in the third trimester. The main reason for this is as your baby grows the uterus moves up applying pressure on the stomach. The digestive tract is then compressed allowing the acid to travel back to the esophagus.

You can avoid heartburn during pregnancy in many ways. The first thing to do is to eat slowly, this will help with your pregnancy heartburn. This helps you to enjoy the food better and the stomach does not have to overwork for the food to digest. Have your food a minimum of two hours prior to sleeping at night, to give your body enough time for digestion. Have smaller meals 5 or 6 times a day to allow better digestion.

Try to keep solid food and liquids separately, too much mixing of solids and liquids can give you heartburn. Make sure you eat in a sitting position and not lying on your back. If your having a snack in bed use a pillow to keep straight.

Heartburn is also connected to your weight. There is more pressure on the splinter of esophagus of women who have put on more weight then necessary. It is important to gain the proper amount of weight as suggested by your doctor. Do not use being pregnant to over eat, listen to your doctor.

Identify that give you heartburn. When you are able to identify, them remove them from your diet. There are certain foods and beverages that can cause heartburn like soda, tomato sauce, spicy foods, chocolate, and some citrus fruits. You can also develop heartburn from eating oily food. Learn the proper foods to eat during pregnancy.

Don’t Do These 7 Things Right After Meals

August 22nd, 2010 Hans K Anderson No comments

1- Don’t smoke (you should never smoke)-Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meals is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of getting cancer increases).

2- Don’t eat fruits immediately – Immediately eating fruit after meals will cause your stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore try eating fruit one half hour after a meal or one hour before a meal.

3- Don’t drink regular tea (drink green tea) – Because regular tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened and thus more difficult to digest.

4- Don’t loosen your belt – Loosening the belt after meals will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked.

5- Don’t bathe (right after a meal)- Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in your stomach.

6- Don’t walk around – People always say that after meals you should walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we consume.

7- Don’t sleep immediately after meals – The food you consume will not be able to digest properly. This will lead to gastric & infection in your intestine.

The Question What is Down Syndrome Answered

August 19th, 2010 Hans K Anderson No comments

What is Down Syndrome? It is no longer uncommon to find someone who has Down Syndrome. It is a condition with no definite cure, which is why individuals need to know more about the nature, risks and symptoms. It can help you stay ahead and prevent complications when you learn about the features and the syndrome itself. Below you will find the characteristics.

Down Syndrome defined

Down’s syndrome or Down syndrome has also been called trisomy 21. Triggered by the presence of a portion or the entire extra 21st chromosome, It is a chromosomal disorder. The condition is named after John Langdon Down, a British doctor who described the syndrome back in 1866. The disorder was known as chromosome 21 trisomy by Jerome Lejeune in 1959. A mixture of major and minor structural differences characterizes the condition. In most cases, Down syndrome is linked to problems with physical growth, facial appearance and cognitive ability.

Patients afflicted with Down syndrome usually have below average cognitive ability, ranging anywhere from mild to moderate developmental disabilities. There are also a few who have severe to profound mental disability. About 1 in every 800 to 1,000 births is found to have Down syndrome, although the numbers are highly influenced by the mother’s age. Other factors also have a role.

The Features

Several common physical features of the condition occur in individuals with a standard chromosome set too. Some of the inclusions may be a single transverse palmar crease, almond shape to the eyes due to the eyelid’s epicanthic fold , shorter limbs, upslanting palpebral fissures, poor muscle tone, protruding tongue and bigger than usual space between the second and big toes. Some of the other health risks for patients include a heightened risk for gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD, thyroid dysfunctions, repetitive ear infections, obstructive sleep apnea and congenital heart defects.

Early childhood intervention, vocational training, common problem screening, medical treatment and a conducive family environment can prevent the development of Down syndrome among children. Proper education and care that leads to an improvement in quality of life can help, even though some of the features of the condition cannot be controlled.

About the Chromosomes

A normal baby inherits genetic information from the parents during conception through 46 chromosomes. 23 comes from the mother, while 23 comes from the father. In several cases of Down syndrome, a baby can inherit an extra chromosome 21. The total chromosome count then becomes 47 instead of the usual 46. The extra genetic material leads to the developmental delays and physical features linked with Down syndrome.

There is no true known reason why Down syndrome occurs, and there are also no known ways to stop the chromosomal error that leads the condition. Women 35 years old and older, however, have a higher risk of bearing kids with the condition. Women 30 years old have an estimated 1 in 900 chance of bearing a child with Down syndrome. Women 35 years old have an estimated 1 in 350 chance of bearing a Down syndrome baby. Those 40 years old have a higher risk of about 1 in every 100.

Preparations

There is always a risk for parents to bear children with Down syndrome. The more important thing is that they stay prepared just in case the inevitable occurs. Early screening and diagnosis can help and alleviate some of the problems.

This is The Law of Attraction

August 18th, 2010 Hans K Anderson No comments

Have you ever asked yourself “What is The Law of Attraction“.

The big one is The Law Of Attraction. It’s the basis of everything. Simply put the law is – “We attract into our experience that, and only that, which we think about – whether wanted or uninvited”. This means that whatever we give our energy, attention or focus to,focus, energy and attention to will inevitably be attracted to us.

The consequence is the Law Of No Assertion – “Nothing and nobody can assert anything into our experience which is not a mate to our vibration”. This means that nothing or nobody , (including “God”, fate, friends, family, governments, strangers, tsunamis, star signs etc. etc.) can cause us to experience something that does not resonate with the way we are thinking.

Another way of stating this law (putting it in terms more closely aligned with the language of advanced physics) is the Law Of Alternate Realities – “We pick out which reality to step into by the things we give our attention, energy and focus “. Pick whichever version suits you, but the last version appeals to me – they all mean the same thing – we create our own reality.

Now let’s think a little more on that, “whether wanted or unwanted ” piece from the Law Of Attraction above.

Everyone has an Emotional Scale . To put it bluntly , we either feel bad or we feel good If we’re not feeling good, then what we’re including in our thoughts is what we don’t want. The Emotional Scale runs from Depression-Grief-Fear-Anger-Frustration-Annoyance-Boredom Where we’re thinking about what we DON’T want through to Ecstasy, Passion, Contentment, Interest, Excitement, Passion where we’re thinking about what we DO want.

The Universe hears no negatives, is another way to put it. So if we are fearful that something might happen, we are attracting it. Zilch-nothing-nada is more crucial than feeling good. Our “work” consequently is to get ourselves to the place where we focus on what we want – to move ourselves up the scale from:

Worry,Hope, Optimism, Confidence and then Certainty.

The more we can move >>> to the positive end of the scale, the quicker we can manifest what we truly desire .

So what we’re spending our time thinking about is all-important. And so is how we’re thinking about it. There is a resonant point of attraction, for every subject. If you want to know where you are on any subject, look around. What you’re experiencing is where you’re resonating.

For a minute, pick a topic on which you’d like some change in your life. For example – say money. Is your primary reaction “I don’t have enough”? Every time something you’d like-to-have flashes into your consciousness, is the like-to-have immediately drowned out by can’t-afford-it? Or do you get a delicious anticipation feeling?

So where does action – doing things – fit into all of this? Well first we need to understand what I call the BE-DO-HAVE™ principle.

Action was all important in the world I was raised in. It didn’t matter whether I wanted to do it, or felt like doing it – I needed the self-control to do it anyway. With a combination of hard work and being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time , maybe things would turn out OK. Well according to the Law Of Attraction, that’s all hooey. There’s no such thing as “luck”, and there are no “accidents”. Our actions in themselves cannot get us what we want.

But – the Universe is a powerful orchestrator. It eternally responds to our thoughts and always has us in the right place at the right time. To take advantage of this, we have to reverse the process – to Be-Do-Have.

If we can feel/imagine/see ourselves where we want to BE, then we’ll be inspired to DO the things that will allow us to HAVE all that we want (more on BE-DO-HAVE later).

So – if we look at the way successful people order their lives, we see that many directly acknowledge this Law Of Attraction. Others, as you begin to see the principles they live by, inherently take advantage of it. That is they clearly order their lives according to its principles. Also, there are legions of books on this subject – either directly acknowledging the Law Of Attraction, or giving principles and procedures that are in line with it. In summary, what they all say is – spend time visualizing what you want, and it will appear.

A few quotes:

“Man must cease attributing his problems to his surroundings, and learn again to use his will – his personal responsibility.” – Albert Schweitzer

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.” – William James

“Your circumstances may be uncongenial, but they shall not continue so if you only perceive an ideal and strive to reach it. You cannot travel within and stand still without.” – James Allen

“Relax and see yourself already in possession of the good that you desire” Bob-Proctor

“Whatever your mind can conceive and can believe, it can achieve.” Napoleon Hill

“Follow your bliss, and doors will open for you that you never knew existed” Joseph Campbell
