When your baby is at its earliest stages and I mean right at the beginning of your pregnancy, does it really matter what you eat? Should you care about nutrition during pregnancy at the beginning?

The answer to both questions according to doctors is definitely. It’s very important to pay attention to what you eat during the early stages of pregnancy, for the sake of the baby’s health and for your own health and well being.

From the earliest stages of your pregnancy, everything you ingest, and then digest is transferred to your baby through the placenta. The importance of proper nutrition and a healthy diet during pregnancy is extremely important to giving your baby the best start possible in your baby’s early life.

Your probably wondering how you should be eating during the early stages of pregnancy.

Many professionals recommend that you start proper healthy eating habits as soon as you become aware of your pregnancy. The earlier you start the better you and your baby will be in the long run.

One of the first things you can do is to start to eat smaller meals through out the day. You could eat smaller meals 5 or 6 times a day, in place of the standard three large meals a day. nutritional experts suggest eating a small meal every three to four hours, whether you feel hungry or not. Never skip a meal, if you’re not feeling hungry at the time eat something small, healthy and light anyway. You have to remember that you are now eating for two and your baby needs good proper nutrition during pregnancy. This does not mean to feel your self with junk food, eat could healthy food when having cravings during pregnancy.

It’s a good idea to snack between meals on foods high in fiber and protein and don’t forget to eat your carbohydrates.
