Mike Tyson’s Daughter Passes Away
I wrote a post about Mike Tyson’s daughter being in critical condition after getting tangled in a cord on a treadmill. If you haven’t already herd Mike Tyson’s daughter Exodus passed away.
Being a father myself it just breaks my heart whenever I here of this kind of tragedy that involves the death of a child. It brings tears to my eyes just writing this post.
Apparently treadmill injuries are not that uncommon with children.
This is what the South Florida Sun-Senteniel had to say:
…Almost 5,500 children under age 5 were treated in emergency rooms in 2006 and 2007 for treadmill-related injuries, according to statistics from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Most had cuts, bruises and scrapes, primarily on the hands or fingers; one child’s injury required an amputation. Thirty-two percent had their hands caught in or on the treadmill, in some cases suffering serious friction burns.
Like I mentioned in my previous post please keep your children away from treadmills and any other kind of exercise equipment. Put a lock on the door where your equipment is if you have to.
The consequences could be deadly.
