Ways To Keep Body Odor Under Control

You’ve surely experienced the discomfort of an unusually hot day when you sweat heavily. Imagine having to go through this on a daily basis. Suppose that, aside from the sticky sensation you had, you were aware that your body odor was noticeable as well? How disturbing would it be if your body constantly had a repulsive odor that you couldn’t wash away? What would you do? Many people would simply stay inside their homes. The sad fact is that this is a fairly common problem shared by many people. Excessive sweating and body odor are a daily reality for these people. Here are some tips if you suffer from these conditions.

Stay away from clothing that is made from synthetic materials. Polyester especially exacerbates those with body odor and excessive sweating issues. This is because these fabrics cling to the skin and keep it from breathing. The body needs air circulation to cool off and when that circulation is hampered your body sweats more to compensate. Because of the excessive sweating, body odor levels rise, sometimes to embarrassing levels. Not to mention, synthetic fabric is harder to clean. So make sure that your clothes fit you loosely and are made from natural fabrics. Synthetics should be left on the shelves and hangers of the thrift shops.

It may be hard to fathom, but some people advocate for the application of baking soda to very sweaty areas of their body. We haven’t actually tested this out but the reasoning behind it is sound. Baking soda is used quite a bit for absorbing moisture and reducing odors.

This is why you keep an open box of it in your refrigerator. This is why it is expected that it may work the same for people. You don’t want to use a bunch of the stuff, although, a little dusting definitely won’t hurt.

This is going to sound strange but did you know that vinegar is a natural remedy for body odor? Every day, apply a towel or cotton ball that’s bin dipped in white vinegar to any parts of your body prone to excessive sweat. Yes, for a moment, you are going to smell like vinegar. What happens, though, is that as the odor of vinegar fades, your body odor problem will also have faded, or at least lessened. This actually works, even if it sounds odd! There aren’t many remedies cheaper than vinegar, either! I don’t know anyone who likes sweat. It can feel great during exercise. The after feeling however is not a good one. Body odor is a difficult smell to deal with. For most of us, body odor is absolutely mortifying-especially when we’ve done everything to prevent it from occurring. There are still thankfully, many things you can try to help prevent the condition. Every person will react differently to each treatment option. Don’t give up just because something didn’t work like you thought it would. You will discover what works and what doesn’t. At some point you will no longer have to worry about sweat and stink.
