No Such Thing As Spot Reduction!

You have to realize is that there is no such thing as spot-reduction.

Let’s say that you have a little extra fat around the triceps area. Just because you do exercises for you’re triceps it doesn’t mean you’re going to lose fat in that area. Of course you will develop and tone the triceps muscles (three muscles make up the triceps) performing the exercises.

You’re body decides where the fat is going to come off. Men and women tend to store body fat in different areas. Women generally have a higher fat content then men (sorry ladies that’s just the way it is)

Think of it like this. The last place that you’re body started gaining fat is the first place it is going to come off.

So when you see all these late night infomercials that tell you to wrap their product around you’re waste and you will lose fat on you’re stomach. It’s not going to work like they say.

When you read the fine print they will tell you that “Any weight loss program works better in conjunction will a proper exercise program and by following a healthy diet”

Sometimes they even provide this information for you.

Now that’s not to say that some of the equipment is not good. You just will not be able to spot reduce.

A well balanced exercise program of cardio, resistance training and proper eating habits is the right way to go.

Remember weight loss is not a race.
